Chamber Restructures Roundtables, Introduces Legislative Scorecard
In February, the Chamber introduced a new format for our popular Legislative Roundtables. The restructured event, from an open-floor format to an issue-specific discussion, ensures that we can better focus on issues and legislation that is of most importance to the Hanover business community, with the ultimate goal of ensuring that the voice of the business community is heard by local legislators.
In conjunction with the new roundtable format, over the next year you can expect to see a scorecard (similar to a report card) of votes which we will track based on issues chosen by Chamber members. The scorecard will specifically track individual votes by local elected officials, ensuring that our members and the community know how their leaders vote on crucial legislation.
Currently, we are watching legislation pertaining to worker’s compensation and opioid abuse, 529 plan reform, regulatory issues, redistricting of the US Senate seats, and the state gubernatorial and house races.
As you know, these issues are always changing and ever evolving. To stay up-to-date, consider joining us at the May Legislative Roundtable. Can’t make it?
