Meet your local candidates!

Yes, I partner with the Hanover Chamber on a variety of events and issues throughout the year including legislative breakfasts, business roundtables, business recruitment and retention efforts, workforce development tours, and Main Street Hanover events.  I have also supported and assisted the Hanover Chamber in securing grant funding for workforce development programs and downtown Hanover economic development projects.  Our office meets monthly with Hanover Chamber staff and other local government officials to discuss the needs of businesses in the Hanover area as they relate to government.  We host the Small Business Development Center in our office so they can meet with and counsel potential new businesses. Finally, we help to promote the services of the York County Economic Alliance including their job fairs and other business and economic development programs.

As a candidate, what are your top three policy priorities?

  • Create an economic environment that protects and generates family-sustaining jobs
  • Make Pennsylvania a more business friendly state by focusing on tax and regulatory reforms
  • Ensure our students receive the proper education and skills they will need to work and succeed in the skilled economy of tomorrow

What are the most important issues affecting businesses in your community/district?

Pennsylvania’s high business taxes, burdensome regulations, and the need for a highly-skilled workforce are the top three issues I hear about from local business owners.

What do you view as the most important business issues facing Pennsylvania businesses, specifically in the Hanover area?

In addition to taxes, regulations, and workforce development, businesses in the Hanover area have expressed frustrations with increasing health care costs and an unworkable workers compensation system.

Additional comments?

It is an honor to receive the endorsement of ChamberPAC, the political arm of the Pennsylvania Chamber of Business and Industry.  I look forward to continuing to work with the PA Chamber as well as the Hanover Chamber in promoting pro-job, pro-growth policies to help improve Pennsylvania’s business climate, grow the economy, and create more family-sustaining jobs in the Commonwealth.
