Corporate Challenge

The Hanover Area Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with Adams-York Sports Performance and Hickory Falls Family Entertainment Center, hosted the third annual Corporate Challenge on Fri., September 16, sponsored by McDonalds.

The event raised just over $4,000 to benefit the Chamber’s Workforce Development initiatives.

tugParticipants of the ‘Competitive Track’ at Adams-York Sports Performance (AYSP) faced a host of challenges throughout the day, coordinated by Dan Sell, owner of AYSP.  Challenges included a tire flip, 1-mile litter carry in which five teammates carried an additional teammate, tug-of-war, and other physically challenging activities.  Fourteen teams from local businesses participated in the competitive track, with the team from Ability Prosthetics and Orthotics coming out on top.

The ‘Recreational Track’ was held at Hickory Falls Family Entertainment Center, and featured mini-golf, laser tag and go-carts.  The team from Clark’s NA took first place in the afternoon’s events.

The Chamber’s Workforce Development initiatives offer a comprehensive approach to workforce development and career opportunities in the greater Hanover area.   Over the years, a unique partnership has been developed between local businesses and educational leaders that has built a collaborative foundation for local students to explore numerous career pathways that lead to personal growth and local employment.  Continuing efforts to connect to the specific and diverse needs of Hanover-based industries have produced important training and professional development opportunities for the local workforce.
