The Hanover Area Chamber of Commerce Officially Celebrates 100 Years of Service to the Business Community

On Wednesday, August 23, 2023, the Hanover Area Chamber of Commerce celebrated its 100th anniversary. Members of the chamber and community gathered on the lawn of the Warehime – Myers Mansion for an evening of networking and recognition. A short program for the evening consisted of several speakers including the Chairman of the Board of Directors, local and state legislators, and representatives from the PA and the U.S. Chamber.  

The speakers for the 100th anniversary celebration were as follows:  Chairman of the Board of Directors, Brandon Smith of Edward Jones, Executive Vice President and Chief People Officer of Utz Snacks, Jim Sponaugle, U.S. Representative Lloyd Smucker, 11th District, US Chamber Great Lakes Region Vice President, Kevin Courtois, PA Chamber Vice President of Government Affairs, Alex Halper, PA State Senator Kristin Phillips-Hill, 28th District, PA State Representative Kate Klunk, 169th District, and York County Commissioners, Julie Wheeler and Doug Hoke. The Hanover Area Chamber of Commerce was presented with several honors from various legislators and organizations, commending the successes of the last century of service to the business community.

Closing remarks were given by Hanover Area Chamber of Commerce President, Gary Laird. He extended his gratitude to past and present Chamber members, the evening’s sponsors, speakers, Board of Directors, and Chamber staff.
