Elizabeth Silbaugh Johnides AIF® is a financial advisor who specializes in consulting for retirement plans. In addition, her family owns and operates a 52,000 square foot year-round indoor farmer’s market, the Markets at Hanover.

The Markets at Hanover is a place where people, commerce, good will, and good eats have a synergy. Not only a place for shopping and dining, Liz has transformed the Markets at Hanover into a space where all are welcome to further their causes. Liz has always been a champion of area non-profits, serving on their boards, volunteering with them, donating to support them, and in many cases opening the doors of her business for them to utilize the Markets of Hanover for events, meetings, and fundraising.

Two years ago, Liz and the Markets welcomed the Give Local York team for a non-profit showcase event over lunch. The event went over so well that the planning team chose the Markets at Hanover as the location for the following year’s event—only this time, it would be for the entire day! This opportunity allowed for the area non-profits to showcase their missions to the customers of the markets throughout the day.

Liz is a true leader in the community having served on the boards of the Vault, TrueNorth Wellness Services, and the Gettysburg Adams Chamber of Commerce. She currently serves on the board of the Adams County Community Foundation and is the co-chair of the Band and Brew Committee for Sweet Charities of Hanover.

Liz wins this award for this year, and for all the years she's been a part of this community. The endless work she's done to make our community a better place deserves recognition, as she supports local businesses and non-profits all while running a successful, unique, and ever-growing small business of her own. She is a strong leader in the community, and as such, is a very deserving candidate for this prestigious award.
