Chamber Seeks Spring 2020 Event Planning Intern

The Hanover Area Chamber of Commerce is seeking an event planning intern for the spring 2020 semester.

The Hanover Area Chamber of Commerce holds three large events that take place May through July, including a golf outing, Snack Town Brewfest, and a street festival drawing 10,000+ attendees. The internship will include 16-24 hours per week and will run May through July.


Duties include:

  • Supporting the Director of Membership and Events with event production schedules

  • Contacting vendors and sponsors

  • Coordinating with the host venue

  • Managing event database

  • Registering event attendees


Requirements/qualifications:

  • High school degree or equivalent; must be enrolled in an accredited university/college program to receive credit

  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)

  • Must be 18 years of age

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Self-directed and able to work without supervision

  • Energetic and eager to tackle new projects and ideas
