Guest Post: Happy New Year from Nick Sarver and TGA!

Wow, to say that 2020 was a challenging year would be an understatement, but challenging it certainly was. We are not superstitious here at TGA, however we are very thankful to welcome in what we hope will be a great 2021. My name is Nick Sarver and I joined TGA and the insurance industry in the middle of the pandemic – what an introduction to insurance.
I don’t think there was a single industry in our economy that was unaffected in 2020 and the insurance industry is no exception. We saw unprecedented levels of claims, and ultimately, the industry as a whole has tightened as we close out the year and begin 2021. The areas hit the hardest are Property, Auto, Umbrella, Directors and Officers, Employment Practices, and Cyber insurance. Each of these areas of coverage are seeing increases in rates, and in some cases, simultaneous reductions in coverage.
Now more than ever, we appreciate the opportunity to make the MAP program available to the Chamber members in conjunction with Penn National and we encourage you to take advantage by considering a quote at your next renewal.
These uncertain times can create stress, but ultimately, we seek to be a calming voice to those around us during less than ideal times. We find great joy in serving our customers during the difficult times they face as we seek to bring value and assurance to them in a time of need. We constantly advocate for our clients’ best interest and challenge the status quo in order to achieve the best possible results available. We also take pride in remaining transparent and always keeping our clients informed so everyone is able to make confident business decisions.
Yes, our craft is helping our clients with their insurance and risk management needs, but our passion is serving our community. We are all working together with a “greater good” outcome in mind. We proudly contribute to and serve our community wherever and whenever possible. We believe in spreading joy by showing sincere care for others and embracing differences. We strive for a better tomorrow, knowing that is only possible by learning from yesterday and respecting today.
As we look to 2021 and all that is before us, we ask that you join us in doing what we can to help make our community better each and every day. We ask that you join us in working together and partnering with one another to help grow our economy. We ask that you join us in serving those in need. We ask that we all unite with one common goal of helping to make our community the best it can be.
Happy New Year and we look forward to all the good that we are confident will come in 2021.

Nick Sarver is an Account Executive at The Glatfelter Agency (TGA) in York, PA. Nick recently graduated from the Temple University’s Fox School of Business with a BBA in Risk Management and Finance. Nick has also earned his Transportation Risk Insurance Professional (TRIP) designation and is also working on his Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) designation.
Being the Captain of the Owl’s Varsity Soccer Team, Nick learned many invaluable lessons about teamwork, collaboration and leadership, all attributes he brings to helping business owners create insurance programs that help them grow and succeed. As a York area local, Nick looks forward to connecting with local business owners and helping to create a thriving community.
In his free time, Nick likes to remain active, frequenting the gym and playing soccer on the weekends while also spending time with his loved ones.
